I was a member of a very the unique Board of Directors of NSM/Selected.
Our class was in its fourth year and I was the Secretary-Treasurer when the terror attack happened on 9-11-2001. Our Annual Meeting was cancelled.
According to our bylaws, the Board is transitioned at the Annual Meeting.
As a result our class was asked if we would consider serving another year in the same positions. A special Board meeting was held in Ohio. A motion was made for us to continue for another year, and the motion carried. Therefore we are the only class that has ever served for 5 years. Our Board was responsible for the name change and the logo change. I have retired from our family businesses and my two sons are now the owners and managers of our two funeral homes. I am honored to have been a member and a Board member/officer of this organization.
